Christ in the OT Multimedia
Christ is present throughout the Old Testament as both the promise and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Every book, from Genesis to Malachi, anticipates and foreshadows the coming Savior, whether through types, prophecies, or the sacrificial system. Figures like Moses, David, and the prophets are not mere historical characters but are shadows of the ultimate Prophet, Priest, and King, whose antitype is found in Jesus. The Old Testament is not an unrelated precursor but a vital part of the gospel, where Christ is revealed in promises like the seed of the woman in Genesis 3:15 and the suffering servant of Isaiah 53. Understanding Christ’s presence in the Old Testament is essential to seeing the unity of Scripture and God’s unfolding covenant of grace, which finds its culmination in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Through the Old Testament, we see Christ as the “Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8), whose shadow prepared God’s people for the glorious reality fulfilled in the New Testament.
