This month we celebrate our 25th Anniversary - We Thank the Lord for You.

We are delighted that you use the free resources available at Monergism. Our mission is to provide open access to scripturally sound and theologically rich Christian literature, ensuring cost is never a barrier to building a robust Christian library. While these resources are free to all, sustaining this ministry requires funding.

Last year, over 1 million new visitors accessed our resources. Given that less than 1% of readers donate, we humbly ask you to consider supporting this ministry. If everyone reading this gave just $5, we could meet our 2024 budget in no time.

Every contribution makes a difference - whether it's a monthly gift of $20 or a one-time donation of $10, $25, $100, or more. You can also read our business plan to see how your gifts are used to further this mission.

Monergism (CPRF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Theology

Theology comes from a Greek word which means "study of God" ... The Scripture is the sole, supernatural self-revelation of God, the source of all true knowledge. We believe that the Bible contains God's progressive self-revelation. Biblical theology is concerned with how the Bible reveals God; in His creation, in His covenant, in His redemption, in His judgment, etc. The Bible has its own method of revealing God, and that revelation is historical and thus progressive...

The more we know of God, the more unreservedly we will trust him; the greater our progress in theology, the simpler and more child-like will be our faith.

J. Gresham Machen

Religion, the fear of God, must therefore be the element which inspires and animates all theological investigation. That must be the pulsebeat of the science. A theologian is a person who makes bold to speak about God because he speaks out of God and through God. To profess theology is to do holy work. It is a priestly ministration in the house of the Lord. It is itself a service of worship, a consecration of mind and heart to the honour of His name.

- Herman Bavinck.

"Your theology will not always move you in the direction of obedience because your use of theology is governed by the condition of your heart." - Paul Tripp (as good a brief explanation as you will ever hear as to why Christians and churches with otherwise good theology sometimes disappoint)
