Lordship Controversy
Subtopics
"...the opposite of "easy believism" is not "hard believism" but "impossible believism" (1 Cor 12:3, 1 Cor 2:14). But thanks be to God, "what is impossible with man is possible with God." (Luke 18:27)
Some people like to say, they believe in Christ's Lordship just not Lordship salvation. But if a sinner, by grace, comes to Christ as Savior to be rescued from the guilt and power of sin, then he is turning FROM sin TO Christ so that Christ will rescue him it. In other words, the sinner no longer wants to be under the tyranny and lordship of sin and now wants Christ. No one regenerated by the Spirit of God prays, 'Lord delivere from the guilt of sin, but not its power." That is a false conversion which wants to be saved from hell, but not from sin.
