Have you ever known a time when it seemed that “vileness [was] exalted among the children of man? (Psalm 12:8)” If you answered no, you must not be paying attention very well to the time we live in. But this psalm makes clear that our time does not have a monopoly on vileness. It is a defining characteristic of fallen humanity isn’t it? But it will not prevail. God will! The psalm tells us that the vile ones boast that they cannot be stopped. But then we hear Jehovah declare, “I will now arise.” “[He] will guard us…forever” it says. I love to think of the new heaven and earth “in which righteousness dwells.”(2 Pet. 3:13) That’s ONLY righteousness forever. Isn’t that good!? Give thanks!
