Blessed Man, Bless the Lord! (Psalm 34)

Blessed Man, Bless the Lord! (Psalm 34)

Adapted by Greg Pearson

“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” In 1 Peter 2:3 we are told that those who long for pure spiritual milk have tasted that the Lord is good. Here in Psalm 34 we hear a poor man’s abundant praise to the goodness of the LORD who delivered him from troubles. For us who have tasted the goodness of the LORD’s salvation and care there is both hunger and worship. We long for the pure milk of God’s word (1 Pet. 1:22-25; 2:1-3) and we become true worshippers who bless the LORD, boast in Him, magnify Him and Exalt His name (Ps 34). How is your appetite? Are you a true worshipper? You know the goodness of God. Thank Him!

The songs of Regulative Heart are curated, adapted and produced by Greg Pearson of Tennessee. Greg has served the Lord’s church in various roles over the last 44 years, including Pastor, Minister of Music, Student Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Elder in a Reformed Baptist Church. After suffering a debilitating stroke in December 2021, limiting his ability to continue to serve in those roles, Greg has turned his attention to bringing these important songs, in various musical styles, to as many of God’s people as possible. Now, in partnership with Monergism.com, Greg is in the process of writing a short devotional intro for each song as you will find each week in the Monergism.com blog.
